Scientific background

Paulina is a Master’s degree student in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. During her bachelor’s studies, she specialized in neurological disorders and therapeutic options for their treatment. Currently, she is working at the Department of Physiology, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, where she is involved in developing a mouse model of focal cortical dysplasia and investigating the use of adeno-associated virus for the transduction of cortical neuron subpopulations.

Research interests

Paulina is interested in exploring the possibilities of treating neurological disorders using gene therapy and translating these methods into clinical practice. Her goal is to explore the complexity of brain circuits and find innovative approaches to their therapeutic manipulation. Personal experience with epilepsy in her family motivates her to search for new therapeutic strategies for patients suffering from neurological diseases.
