Scientific background
Research collaboration within the scientific projects of the Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology, and the Centre of Paediatric Neurooncology, (e.g. validation of images and segmentation in spinal cord tumours/gliomas), as well as at the Department of Paediatric Neurology, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague and Motol University Hospital (evaluation of signal changes of corticosubcortical tubers in MR imaging in patients with tuberous sclerosis, with a focus on the assessment of histopathological changes in the areas, evaluation and segmentation of FCD lesions within epileptology).
Ph.D. project: The role of structural and quantitative MR imaging in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, with a focus on objectifying signal characteristics of FCD lesions and assessing white matter volume changes in these patients.
Member of AZV research project Advanced magnetic resonance imaging of pediatric brain tumors /PediTuMRI/ (NU23-08-00460) and AZV project Automatic detection and objective parameterization of hypometabolism in PET brain imaging (NU23-08-00528).
Research interests
Neuroimaging, epileptology in relation to FCD detection and segmentation and epileptogenic zone determination in synergy with other electrophysiological examinations and AI (MAP18, MELD). Focus on the setup and validation of quantitative MR data in children and their use for the diagnosis of brain lesions and processes (MR-STAT projects in collaboration with UMC Utrecht). Visual assessment of epileptogenic lesions with extension to define the epileptogenic zone, methods for advanced brain MR imaging.
